Sa Ri One

Palma Ceia · korean, korean bbq

Sa Ri One is a Korean kitchen on West Cypress Street behind the airport industrial belt, a room its own site describes as a cozy diner-style restaurant with simple Korean decor rather than anything grand. The menu runs the full range most Tampa Korean menus skip: jok bal, or sliced steamed pig's trotter, bibim naeng myun, jajang myun, dol sot bi bim bob in the hot stone bowl, seafood pancake, galbi and a bosam section, with banchan that changes by season. There are grills in the tables, so you can order from the menu or cook marinated meat and vegetables at your seat. The Cypress Street room closed briefly during summer 2026 and was open again by late August; its current site publishes a full menu and daily hours. Creative Loafing has put it on both its list of classic Tampa restaurants and its chef-sourced guide to the city's best Asian kitchens.

Southern Luv BBQ

Citrus Park · $ · bbq, southern, cuban

Southern Luv BBQ smokes over pecan wood on Citrus Park Drive in northwest Tampa, run by founder and pitmaster Chef Essi Tadrus. His own story on the site starts with a plate of ribs at a gas station in Fort Hood, Texas at age five, where his father was stationed; he opened his first restaurant at nineteen and later brought it home to Tampa. The kitchen took second place for World's Best Cuban Sandwich at the International Cuban Sandwich Festival in Tampa, and it bottles its own Carolina gold and sweet heat sauces and bags its own kettle-cooked chips in small batches. When Hurricane Milton knocked out power, the restaurant fired the pit back up and handed out free pulled pork and mac and cheese to neighbours.

The Brisket Shoppe

West Tampa · bbq

The Brisket Shoppe is a Texas-style barbecue counter on North Armenia Avenue in West Tampa run by pitmaster Danny Hernandez, who smokes hand-selected Akaushi wagyu brisket daily over locally sourced oak. The board also carries heritage turkey breast, Cheshire pork ribs and house sausages, with local craft beer and wine alongside. The kitchen states its rules flatly: 'No Freezers. No Microwave. Chef Driven.' It serves Wednesday through Saturday from 11am until the meat runs out, and entered the MICHELIN Guide for the first time in the 2026 Florida selection.

The Liberty Smokehouse

Seminole Heights · bbq

The Liberty Smokehouse is a veteran-owned barbecue kitchen on North Florida Avenue in Seminole Heights, a few blocks up the same street from Wicked Oak. Its own site puts the military background at the centre of the place, saying that as a veteran-owned establishment it is dedicated to serving with the same pride and excellence upheld in the military. The kitchen hand makes its own pickles, sauce, rubs and brines for every item it creates, and it also runs a mobile smokehouse that sets up with breweries and venues around Tampa Bay. TAMPA Magazine listed it in the voters also loved row of its 2026 Best Barbecue results.

Wicked Oak Barbeque

Seminole Heights · $ · bbq

Wicked Oak Barbeque is a counter-service barbecue restaurant on North Florida Avenue in Seminole Heights, founded in 2020 according to the structured data on its own site. It smokes brisket and ribs slowly and makes its sides and sauces in house, and its own line for the neighbourhood is that it is smoking out the Heights. TAMPA Magazine named it one of the winners of Best Barbecue in its 2026 Best Restaurants list, alongside two multi-location groups, which makes it the only single-location Tampa barbecue restaurant in that winners row.
